The railway bridge linked the Ramal Temuco-Carahue and thus linked the regional capital with the coast of La Araucanía region. The construction of the bridge favored the economic and commercial boom of the region, by transfering goods and agricultural products, as well as facilitating the river´s connection with Carahue station, when the Imperial River was navigable. Today it is preserved as a cultural heritage by its declaration.
